ECAOP- Economic & Cyber Offenses Awareness Program
Cybercrimes are rising in India at an alarming rate. Especially students who are spending significant time on internet using mobile apps and social media are falling prey to these crimes either as a victim or as a culprit. Education institutions are considered as primary institutions where students are nurtured to become responsible citizens. Thus eCOAP(economic and cyber offences awareness program) is initiative taken up by Thane City Police to spread awareness about the economic Cyber Crime in school, colleges and corporates. The initiative is planning to reach 500+ teachers, 10,000+ students and 100+ schools/colleges in Thane City.
Activities Planned –
- A city level conference would be arranged for all the stakeholders who include students, parents and school representatives. We would be inviting esteemed speakers, cybercrime experts, and child psychologists etc. on the single platform to help participants to understand the menace of economic & cyber-crime and how they can deal with it.
- Training Program for Teachers
- Outcome Assessment
- At the end of the project (Feb 2018) an impact assessment would be conducted for all stakeholders (teachers, students & corporates) to measure effectiveness of the program.
